my birthday weekend

I have had the greatest birthday! It's been tons of fun! Aside from everything I did Wednesday night, here's what the rest of the week held:

Thursday: I went to youth group and ate some good Thanksgiving food! Afterward, I went to my first ASB meeting, and I'm really excited about the trip to Texas! That night I went ice skating. Just for a little background info, my friend Jamilia was trying to hook me up with her friend Larry, so I spent the past couple days talking to him online and then we decided to meet on Thursday and go ice skating. Larry lives in the same dorm and on the same floor as my friend Danielle so I invited her along and he brought his friend DQ (who lives on their floor too). I met Larry and he was really nice, but kinda quiet. We all had fun skating and such...when of course I had to have the most embarrasing experience of my life (luckily Larry didn't see but he heard about it). So some of my other friends were trying to teach me how to stop on skates like hockey players do (ya know when they turn to the side and stop and ice sprays all over the place). Well I went for it, but I didn't stop. Instead I ended up smashing my face into the plexi-glass thing. It all happened so fast so I can't really remember exactly what I did wrong to crash, cuz I thought I turned and I thought I put my hands out in front of me. And somehow my mouth must've been open cuz my teeth hit the glass and left a mark (my teeth are ok though...none missing or chipped...phew!) and I slammed my nose and it started to bleed a little (my nose is also ok...not broken, just bruised a bit). IT HURT SOOO BADLY!!!! I almost cried but I didn't wanna look like a baby (even though everyone gasped and was asking if I was ok), plus I don't like crying in front of people...so I held the tears, sucked in the pain (sooo hard) and skated to the bathroom to take care of the blood. Now I can look back and laugh and I tell everyone so they can get a laugh out of it too, cuz I can't believe I did that (seeing as how I never fell once that night) and I'm just embarrased at myself. But I still had fun despite the minor incident. Afterward we all went back to their dorm and Danielle, Larry, and I spent the night in Danielle's room. They wanted to basically pull an all night and stay up watching movies, so I went along with it. I was soo tired though so I couldn't make it. I fell asleep at 5:30, but I had to wake up at 7 so I could walk back to my dorm and shower before work at 9. Yeah I know it wasn't smart to stay up all night, but I had fun. Friday was hard to get through, though, on 1.5 hours of sleep.

Friday: I went to work at 9 and was basically falling asleep standing up, but I forced myself to stay. At 11:30 I met up with Danielle (same one) so we could practice for our Spanish exam on Monday (we have to have a conversation with each other). Then I went back to my dorm and studied for my math quiz and then headed to math. The quiz was harder than expected so we'll see how that went. There wasn't Spanish (yay!) so I went back to my dorm and made it work on time! Whoo hoo! Spent the night at work falling asleep again, but at 8 I was finally free! So I just hung around my dorm and did nothing all night but relax cuz my roommate was out. Sleeping was really good :)

Saturday: Biggest game of the year!!! Michigan vs. Ohio State! Did you know that out of all the rivalries in sports Michigan and Ohio State is #2? (#1 is Yankees and Mets) Can you believe that?!?! That's how big of a deal this game is. I was a little bummed that I couldn't go, cuz I went home today to celebrate my b-day with the family, but it's ok cuz I got to watch the end of the game on TV. And guess what?

WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is seriously the most exciting thing ever! Go blue!!! Hahaha, I laugh at how big I am into college football now, but I can't help it! Aaaaahhh...I know the whole campus is going to party like mad tonight! hahaha...but I'm at home so I don't have to deal with that. Anyway, as far as the rest of the day, I got my hair done, and had dinner with my family. And guess what?!?! There was cake!!! I've been aching for cake for a looooong time so I was soo excited! And you know what really rox my sox??? I got a TV w/VCR & DVD player!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! :D I'd been complaining to my parents that I was the only one in college w/out a TV in my room and they finally got me one! I'm soooo excited! Especially cuz it has a DVD player too!! Whoo hoo!!!

Now I'm spending the night watching movies with my brother. We got like 4, hahaha. So I gotta jet! I'm so glad this birthday rocked!!! :)
